Nathaniel Bassey is a Nigerian gospel artist, songwriter, trumpeter, and pastor whose music has reshaped contemporary African worship. He is best known for songs like "Imela," "Onise Iyanu," "Olorun Agbaye (You Are Mighty)," "Olowogbogboro," and the worldwide anthem "Adonai," recorded with Micah Stampley. In 2025 he became the first Nigerian gospel artist to surpass 400 million streams on Spotify, and his songs are sung in churches, prayer meetings, and homes across the continent and the diaspora.

In 2017, Bassey launched the Hallelujah Challenge, a midnight worship and prayer broadcast on Facebook and Instagram that grew into a global movement. What began as a thirty-day call to praise has drawn millions into nightly worship sessions and has been credited by participants with reigniting their hunger for God.

Beyond the music, Bassey serves as the pastor of The Oasis Lagos, the youth church of RCCG King's Court in Victoria Island, Lagos, where he is also a frequent voice on prayer, holiness, and the priestly ministry of worship. His training as a trumpeter — including two years with the Rhodes Orchestra before he turned fully to gospel music — still colors the musicality of his ministry.
